Wikipedia Statistics For Sinxay

Thanks to the encouragement of Chris Baker, author of A History of Thailand and The Tale of Khun Chang Khun Phaen, we wrote an article for Sinxay in Wikipedia with the help of an Italian editor, Daniele Lombardi. Chris told us that having a Wikipedia entry for The Tale of Khun Chang Khun Phaen made a huge difference in helping people learn more about this important folktale, known primarily only in Thailand before their English translation.

We are hoping for the same gradual increase in awareness for Sinxay. We worked hard in trying to make the entry as comprehensive as possible with over 20 citations. We have gradually seen page views increase to an average of 5 a day, not earth shattering, but better than nothing. But as you can see from the screen shot we took of the latest statistics, on one day there were over 50 views of the Sang Sinxay entry. Who knows if it was a large number of individuals, or just a few, but it’s exciting to see Sinxay begin to reemerge into the light of the global world. Step by step as the Lao say…
